Body Systems and The Triad Wave(c)

ANS (Autonomic Nervous System)

1. Functions @ subconscious level

2. Primary influence by hypothalamus.

3. Perceives internal environment, processes information, regulates the internal environment.

4. Motor center of sympathetic portion of ANS – motor center in posterior hypothalamus.

5. Chief commander of motor portion of parasympathetic – anterior hypothalamus.

6. Infrasound/music (electromagnetic waves) can cause action potential in ANS.

HYPOTHALAMUS

1. Exerts primary integrative influence on ANS.

2. Posterior hypothalamus – motor center for sympathetic portion.

3. Chief commander of motor portion of parasympathetic – anterior hypothalamus.

4. UEC/UET communicated thru limbic/hypothalamus axis.

5. Relays messages for limbic system/ANS to mind/body.

LIMBIC SYSTEM

1. Several structures in limbic system have strong regulatory influence on ANS.

2. Unresolved emotional conflicts and trauma (UEC/UET) can remain constantly active in limbic system (part of unconscious mind)

3. UEC/UET are communicated thru limbic/hypothalamic axis.

4. Reaction to stress is limbic brain function.

5. Limbic system is seat of emotion.

6. Directly stimulated via olfactory bulb – sense of smell.

7. A biofeedback information and control center.

8. Alpha/Theta state evokes emotional response in limbic system.

9. Most primary portion of the brain.

10. Messages are relayed via hypothalamic to the mind/body, relaxing or stimulating as needed.
